Copies of old masters and icons
Especially in Greece, Cyprus, Rumania and Russia icon painting has been enjoying a long tradition and has been carried out in various techniques. Usually tempera is painted on wood covered with gold loaf. Impact metal is used for decorations. Making copies is a time-consuming work, which I carry out in my studio in Berlin. Copying Old and New Masters as well as the replication of icons used to be part of my studies at the University of the Fine Arts Dresden (HfBK).
