Customer: Hoffmann Architectural Office Berlin | oil and stone paints on plaster filler | approx. 50sqm
This was a restoration project for the Eichner family. The stucco lustro (marble-effect plaster) surfaces in the mausoleum were worn and required restoration. The work had to be carried out under the German ‘Denkmalschutz’ (preservation of historical monuments) because of the mausoleum’s historical importance. The goal was to recapture the original structure and colouring. A real challenge! I also reworked the sculptures, which had been painted over, in order to make the plastic and patina visible again. This object can be seen at the ‘Zwölf-Apostel’ cemetery in Berlin Schöneberg.
